My HDTV is not 3-D ready, so I can't speak to that feature of this game, and must limit my remarks to how the game itself plays. Frankly, it was disappointing. Hearing that Cameron was attached during development of it, I assumed this would be more than a typical movie-tie it. But as I played it, I began to doubt that Cameron lent anything more than his name to this. Though stunning to look at, with dazzling colors and fascinating sets, the play itself was very mundane, and I found myself slogging my way to the ending, almost an endurance test. It brought nothing new to the gaming experience, and considering the breakthrough the film itself was, I couldn't help expect more. There was not much of a story here, just one assignment after the other -- go talk to this person; come back with this item; go talk to that person; find this item; and so on, back and forth, back and forth -- until the game simply ends.

It was also very glitchy and not true to its own reality. A soldier would just APPEAR out of nowhere, within some small area you'd already cleared, and which had only one means of access. Yet, you'd turn your back and another soldier would randomly materialize. The information from the environment was simply not reliable, as it obeyed no rules. I mean, sure, I know the game is a fantasy, but I expect a reasonable effort by the designers to create it as realistic as possible, to facilitate my suspension of disbelief. Instead I'm reminded again and again, by the magical appearance of non-magical beings anywhere at anytime, that I'm wandering around in a COMPUTER-generated environment, and my suspension of disbelief is interrupted.

However, all that said, the multiplayer online experience is good, and I enjoyed it much more than the single-player game. The environments are just as gorgeous and the sense of realism is maintained because all the players are forced to obey virtual rules of time and space. I don't know how long interest in it will last, as the game seems like it might be a flash in the pan, here today, forgotten next year. At the time I'm writing this, the game was populated enough to form strong teams, but this might be a reflection of the current enthusiasm generated by Cameron's phenomenal movie, and we'll eventually all tire of the novelty of the online experience. But for now it's a blast. Advantages and disadvantages of each species are balanced against one another: the humans might have hi-tech weaponry and armor but the Na'vi have physical agility and a couple of supernatural tricks. To make it more interesting and to be more immersed in the virtual reality, I select to play only as the Na'vi. First, I enjoy the romanticism inherent in the concept of the "noble savage"; and, second, by never playing as a human, the advanced technology and how the humans apply it remain a mystery, as it might to a real native. To combat the humans as Na'vi requires experience and skill, neither of which I presently have to any formidable degree, but I'm learning. If you're an online enthusiast, I suggest that the multiplayer feature of this game alone might make it worth the purchase. It's what saved it for me. However, I'd recommend you wait until the game is cheaper. Not enough went into it to justify this release-date price.

In short, a so-so game as a single-player experience, but the online play elevates it above its movie tie-in drabness. Still, I wouldn't pay the release-date price for it.

Stereoscopic 3D is the next big thing and it looks amazing on a Samsung 61" DLP (SSG1000 glasses). The game has received some bad reviews, and with stiff competition like Uncharted 2, maybe rightfully so. Overall, this is a decent game. And it's simply stunning in 3D!!

People say 3D is too expensive, a fad, or gives them headaches. DLP for a $1000 and $60 for the glasses and emitter from samsungpartsdotcom. 3D has been around for decades; do a simple search and you will find that gaming and blu ray in 3D are on the rise. And I've played 3D games for hours on PC and PS3; no headaches.

The game didn't sell me; the 3D tech did. It's exactly what I wanted: A real 3D game for the PS3. Finally.

10/10 : Rating as a 3D entertainment package
7/10 : Rating as a PS3 game. If you're not playing this in 3D, there's definitely better games out there.

**3D TIP** 'Invert left and right eyes' in the Display Options for better clarity.

Hype, hype, and more hype. I was excited when i heard that Pokemon yellow was coming to stores, so i rushed to get it. But was it really worth the rush? A strong part of me says NO. How much different is Yellow from the originals? Not much at all. You start the game with Pikachu. He follows you around on the screen everywhere you go. OK, so thats fine. The moods of Pikachu are cute for a little while, but they just seem to annoy you eventually. Team Rocket (Jesse and James fr. the TV show) are all over the place. I thought that was pretty neat, but that is about it. For the exception of Pikachu, there are no new moves to learn and no new pokemon. It just a repeat of the first two versions, only following the story line from the cartoon. I never bothered to finish the game...Why do it 3 times??

If you have a Gameshark, get this game. I thought it would be easy, but now I need a Gameshark. I named my Pikachu Rocky and it only says "Pika" on Stadium. If you're good at Stadium, you could get this game too. Get if you can beat Red and Blue without cheating. That is what Yellow is like without a GameShark. I can't even pass Celadon City because Pikachu is so scared.

Bought the wife a Wii for our anniversary and thought this would be a fun game for the 2 of us to play. Boy was I wrong. Controls are aggravating, it only accepts your inputs at the speed of it's choosing, and that's SLOW. I regret buying it.

this game was one of the worst playstation games out there. first of all the shooting is crap and the weapons are annoying. the story has nothing to do with the movie and when your a na'vi you have to hit them like 80 times with tour stupid swords. third of all the graphix suck it seems like it would be a gamecube game. overall 1/5

I couldn't find the activating key the asked for. And if you go to the USI site,
they don't know either. It's not on the Disc, package, manual. So, I sent
mine back. Maybe next time, they will make things clearer.

I would just like to say this is a compete rip-off to get money for PKMN Red and Blue owners. Here is a list of problems:
A. No new Pokemon
B. Just a little tiny bit of easier way to get Pokemon that are rare.
C. Not as much of a challenge as Red or Blue.
D. Pikachu doesnt evolve
E. The game is VERY bad
